                                      Mrs Bamford

Mrs Bamford on the left was a teacher at Barlestone Church School. However in 1912 the Revd W.J.Bell drew the attention of the managers to reports which were being circulated in the village about the misconduct of Mrs Bamford who was the infants teacher after school hours. The Rev Bell gave the facts of the case, and said that both he and Mrs Bell had tried their best to get the teacher to see things in a different light, but all to no purpose. The Chairman of the school managers said that it was serious for a teacher to bring scandal and was not good forthe school, and it was decided that the teacher was to be informed that her services were not required after one month.
