Mr Richard Jackson Of Sefton House 1866-1911.
The Sefton House photographs were taken circa 1909 for Mr Richard Jackson the then tenant of Sefton House in Newbold Road. For their date they are some of the most natural photographs we have of the village and besides showing exterior views of the house, there are also interior views and activities of all kinds associated with a big house. They were apparently taken by a photographer from Hinckley (possibly Watsons of Station Road) who used to be called in from time to time to record these events. Unfortunately Mr Jackson died on Tuesday 21st February 1911 at the early age of 45 years.
