A float,presumably organised for the village carnival, entered as "Labour" and containing children from the village end of Newbold Road. Bill Thompson drives the lorry and Mabel Spriggs sits on the running board. Beatie Wyatt is the tall girl with her elbows on the rails at the side of the lorry.

Carnival c1950 Shoe 2.
The West End float on this occasion was 'The Old Woman who lived in a shoe'. The shoe was made by Ron Thompson and the cooking pot puts in another appearance. At the back are L to R: Gillian Goddard, Neville Thompson, Trevor Jordan. At the side the Old Woman is Michael Goddard with Angela Turner and Abiel Turner. Seated at the front is Hazel Petcher and Jenny Turner. The float on this occasion was the coal lorry belonging to Bill Dagley.

Annual Parade And Gala 1914
Saturday June 28th 1914 - The Annual Parade and Gala. This shows the Procession being marshalled on the Vicarage Field. On the left of the picture is the scale model of a Battleship belonging to Mr. A. E. Hawley of Hinckley. It was a Dreadnought "Fearless". In the centre can be seen boy pony rider in white (Ted. Deacon) and to the right of the picture is the winner of the First Prize in the Decorated Groups - A Tableau Representing A Japanese Tea Party. The lady in white looking at this is Mrs. Deacon.

Bosworth Field Group W.I. Annual Show October 31st 1974
This year's theme "Your Company is Required" gave plenty of scope in its interpretation. Centrepiece of the winning display by Barlestone W.I., was a 21st Birthday Display consisting of a magnificently iced cake. A castle with the Birthday Girl's name, Dawn, the Key of the Door and a '21' included in the decor. The cake was the work of Mrs Diana Walton, of Barlestone. The whole exhibit included a bottle of Barley Water and a jar of Lemon Curd (compulsory items), Creative Embroidery, a Circular Iced Cake, a Savoury Flan and a Simple Posy of Flowers. Admiring their Institute's winning exhibit are L. to R. Mrs M Bell (President), Mrs F Hardy and Mrs P Sheasby. The trophy, a rose bowl is prominently displayed.

The Women's Institute entered their first competition at Bosworth Park Show. The competition being a Buffet for a Golden Wedding Anniversary - comprising of six cookery items and four handicrafts. Gwen Lovell in some of her fancy dress costumes for the village carnivals of the 1930's. Pearly king - this was made by her father, Thomas Steven Lovell, who collected the pearl buttons from various villagers and then sewed them himself to make this outfit for his daughter to wear.

Garden Fete At The Vicarage 1931-1.
A garden fete was held on the Vicarage lawn on Saturday June 27th. The effort was arranged to raise funds towards the Church renovation and a sum of £75 was realised. The photograph is of the Derby Races in the charge of Mr William Jackson - wearing the top hat.
